Theme: Youth – The Plants and the Pillars
Bible Reading: Psalm 144:12
“Our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace”.
Dear Young brothers and sisters in Christ, Praise the Lord. It is a marvelous thing to know that the Youth are compared to strong growing plants providing pleasantness and fruitfulness to the courts of the King’s palace and also polished, beautiful and graceful pillars that could support palace where king is residing with all his ministers and family.
As our Lord God leads us, God willing we will be studying about different pillars in God’s Word in this section on every Wednesday.
Initially if you observe both the comparisons represent one good quality of the Youth. What is it? It is the Strength. Lord God Almighty is expecting the Youth (YOU) to be strong in their spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, economical, and societal life so that they may be the future pillars for upholding the forthcoming ministry of the church (the palace of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords) with pleasantness and fruitfulness in their lives.
The word ‘pillar’ starts from the book of Genesis and ends in the book of Revelation, which means Lord wants you to be as pillar not only on this earthly mansion of the Lord and also in His eternal kingdom for ever and ever. You are so precious in His sight.
Dear Young brother and sister, our Lord is lovingly expecting great things to be accomplished by you as plants and pillars in the days to come. Don’t get discouraged and disappointed from these pandemic circumstances succumbing you and draining you from your spiritual energies. Lord wants you today. Come on.
Before going to meditate on Plants and Pillars we will think about how to get strengthen ourselves to bring up our spiritual life as plants and pillars in the palace of God on which our Lord may delight and depend. The first way to get strengthen according to I John 2:14 I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
The Word of God gives you strength so that you can defeat our enemy Satan and to live a victorious life, but a defeated life brings you weakness. Then you cannot become a strong plant or pillar. Along with your systematic bible reading in your quite time, you read the Bible as frequently as possible to be equipped yourself with the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).
Let His Word reside in you richly (Colossians 3:16). Other than the Word of God if you make anything (news, situations, politics, passions of the world etc.) to reside or dwell in you, it makes you dull and dim. So eat the Word of God and drink it. It quenches your hunger and thirst.
Proverbs 15:30 Good report (The Word of God) maketh the bones fat.
Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant Words (The Word of God) health to the bones.
This strength will help you not to do sin against the Lord Psalm 119:11 there by you would be a Plant and Pillar in the Lord’s house.
Secondly you will be strengthen by rejoicing in the Lord, Nehemiah 8:10 ‘the joy of the Lord is your strength’. Habituate yourself to rejoice in the Lord always. Philippians 4:4 rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. I remember the wonderful song which raises our spirits ‘Rejoice ever more for this is will of God…in Christ Jesus concerning you’. His will of the heart towards you is to Rejoice in Him. To make you Joy he went through all sorts of agony and exceeding sorrow, even unto death (Mathew 26:38). So dear, enjoy your salvation, spiritual blessings, eternal life, more over the presence of God and be rejoicing.
David Says ‘I will love thee O Lord, my strength in Psalm 18:1 then he goes on singing the entire psalm of 50 verses and ends with great deliverance. Sing loudly about your Love, your soul mate, your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, rejoice in Him you will surely get strength to be as plant and pillar in the mansion of the King of Kings.
May our dear Lord and Mighty God strengthen you more and more to be a plant and pillar in the days to come, as you spend more and more time in the Word of God and rejoicing in Him in your Young life.
