Walk of Life – Day 28 – Thoughts from Book of Proverbs

Proverbs 28:26

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”

The Bible says in Jeremiah 17.9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Goliath, who was six feet tall, who probably may have won every battle in his life…eventually lost…strangely against a person who was unequipped, untrained, and looked feeble in stature, a person who neither believed in his heart nor his strength. David went to the battleground without any weapons or armor, rather he took along five smooth stones and he went forward in the name of the Lord and He won the battle and saved all the Israelites. He walked in wisdom. He did not pay attention to the people around him though they discouraged him and questioned his strength. He never changed his mind. David answered them all saying how the Lord had helped him as a shepherd boy to protect his sheep by killing wild animals even lions. He made a wise decision to move ahead trusting in the Lord and not in his strength.

According to 1 Corinthians 1.30: Lord Jesus Christ himself is our wisdom. When we trust the Lord, He gives us His wisdom and leads us and delivers us. We need to be wise enough to trust in the Lord and not our own strength which is futile. We know very little and we are mere mortals, it is better to submit to the all-wise God.

Will we make this commitment today?
I will not lean on my own understanding or wisdom but lean on God
I will humble myself to God with the little that I have and be blessed by the Lord Almighty.
I acknowledge that I can do all things only through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.
