Walk Of Life – Day 15, April 2023 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms

Psalm 148 – Creation Praise His Name

This is the third of the Hallelujah psalms in the Book of Psalms composed appealing all creation to praise the name of the LORD. In this psalm there is no reference to mercy, pity or compassion of God and there is no mention of evil of any form.

Word of God says that, “through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” John 1:3. In simple words, all that you see the sun, moon, stars, sea creatures, birds, wild animals and cattle, natural phenomena like lighting, formation of clouds, hail and snow, mountains and trees are all the handiwork of God. And undoubtedly all need to praise and bring glory to his name by been obedient to all his commands. Among the visions that apostle John had in Patmos Island he mentioned, every creature which is in heaven and on earth and under the earth such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13

Everything in his creation were subject to vanity due to man’s sin, so in his redemption shall be their glorification. For this purpose “He has raised up for his people a horn” who is “the praise of all his faithful servants”, verse 14. That horn is Lord Jesus whom the builders rejected but has become the chief cornerstone and all those who repent and turn away from their wicked ways will be redeemed from eternal death. Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed”, Isaiah 28:16. Those who build their life on the firm foundation of Christ will be able to withstand whatever comes their way and will stay firm till He comes to take them home (heaven).

Therefore, let everything that has breath praise the LORD!!
