Walk of Life – Day 4 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the
issues of life.

We all must have heard and often used the phrase- “From the bottom
of my heart.” Heart is the emotional hub of the human body. Love,
anger, compassion, greed all the several emotions come from our
heart. In the verse mentioned above King Solomon tells us to keep our
hearts with diligence as life flows through it.

When you fill your cistern with water do you expect to fill your glasses
with mango juice from it? No, whatever content is present in that
cistern the same will be transferred to the glasses.

In the same way for life to proceed out of your heart your heart should
be filled with life. Who can fill your heart with life except for the one
who alone is the way, the truth and the life – Lord Jesus Christ as
mentioned in John 14:6?

You might have filled your heart with many things till date. For
Lord to fill you with life you need to take away all the unnecessary
preoccupied elements which hinder God from filling it with life.

For the Lord Jesus Christ has come to this world, died on the cross, rose up
on the third day to give you and me the Life in abundance. Let the Lord fill
your heart with life and then you can preserve it with diligence by giving him the control over your heart for he knows when and where you need to
work with it.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to keep my heart diligently, protected from the things of this world. Please fill my heart with your love, your peace, and your presence so I may give life to all those who come in contact with me. Amen.
