Walk Of Life, Day 13 – July 2020 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs

Proverbs 13:25 “The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.”

In God’s word, the Holy Spirit has not only told us how the righteous are but also has told us about the wicked so that we do not be like them.

Our God is not a partial God. We read in the scriptures, Romans 2:11 “For there is no respect of persons with God.” He sees everyone equally. Both the wicked and the righteous enjoy the nature created by God. It is the attitude that varies.

The attitude of the righteous:

The righteous person is contented with what he has got and is grateful to God who has given Him. This attitude moves God to give them more.

The attitude of the wicked:

The wicked are least bothered about what they have got and want for more. They are never grateful. This attitude provokes God to anger and they don’t get anything from him.

Are not these people foolish who keep begging for more and more to make themselves rich? What makes the righteous content? It is because they know that their heavenly father has all the riches and knows to give them according to their needs. If you trust in the Lord and His might then you will never find yourself in want.

If there is someone wanting for more, it shows that they are doubting God’s richness.

God might not fulfill our desires if they are harmful for us but he surely meets our needs. Can you thank Him today for meeting your every need instead of doubting Him for not fulfilling your desires?

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

I thank thee for meeting all my needs. I, in my carnal mind have desired for many things that might not be good for me. I have been praying for those things to fulfill my desires and have forgotten to thank you for the things which I have already received. Forgive me and give me a grateful and contented heart. In the precious name of my Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
