Walk of Life, Day 13 – August 2020 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs.
A wicked messenger falls into trouble, But a faithful ambassador brings health. Proverbs 13:17
*A faithful ambassador brings health*
An ambassador is the chief diplomatic representative of a particular country. He is the spokesperson, mediator, and gap filler between the higher officials of his country and his residing country. A faithful ambassador will always serve for the goodness and benefit of his own nation, let come what may.
Since World War ll, there have been 12 diplomatic ambassadors of America killed during the line of service. There are innumerable ambassadors all around the globe who have not spared their life for their country.
Talking about us, who are we? Are we not the ambassadors of the magnificent Almighty God, the creator of the Heavens and The Earth, who was, and is and is to come, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient? Are we walking before him with elegance and faithfulness?
The author of proverbs says that a faithful ambassador brings health. Are we performing our duties in such a way that it bestows health to the sick souls?
Bible says in in 2 Corinthians 5:20 that we are the ambassadors of Christ. In other words we are the chief diplomatic representative of Jesus Christ. The actions we do, the words that we speak and the thoughts that we think must show forth and project Jesus Christ Himself. The heathen people must understand the attributes of God through us.
The world should describe the ambassador of Christ as follows:
* She is a Christian, she will not lie
*He is a Christian, he will not dodge
*She is a Christian, she will be loving
*He is a child of God and so he will not enjoy worldly entertainment.
*She is a Christian, she will not argue unnecessarily or speak bad words.
*He is a Christian, he will do his work with utmost sincerity.
*She is a Christian, she will not gossip.
*She is a Christian, she will not say false statements against others.
If every child of God behaves in such a way there will be no need for great sermons, public meetings, and mass gatherings. Every believer himself or herself will represent Christ by bringing out health, life, sound mind, joy and happiness.
Apostle Paul goes a step further and says that he is an ambassador of Christ in His chains. How much love you should have for the Lord to be such an ambassador.
Beloved in Christ, what a prestigious privilege it is to be called as the ambassadors of Christ! In the Secular world every citizen can’t be called as ambassadors. You need to be highly qualified fulfilling the required criteria setting apart from the rest of the candidates.
Blessed are we the ambassadors of Christ and may we earnestly desire to be faithful bringing health to His kingdom.
