Walk of Life – Day 26 – December 2020 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs
The Lord Jesus – Our Great God and Savior
The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. Proverbs 26:10
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” Titus 2:13
The Lord Jesus came down in the form of man to become a propitiation for our sins. As He walked on this earth, He performed numerous miracles and finally conquered sin, death, and the devil. He is truly a great God, the One who created heaven and earth, yet came down as a man to save us from our sins. Greatness is not only in the numerous great things that one does, it is also in the supreme character of the person. The Lord Jesus is great in His love, His forgiveness, His purity, His compassion, His zeal, His constant desire to do the will of the Father and truly this list is endless. His greatness lies in the fact that the One whom the heavens adore, who dwelt in the most beautiful place came down as a mere man born in a manger in a small town Bethlehem. His greatness is because the Lion of Judah became the humble, sinless Lamb of God who gave His life for sinners.
What a mighty God we serve, as we come to the end of a not-so-pleasant year, we need to remember that the Lord Jesus whom we love and adore is a great God. He is true. He is faithful. He is wonder-working. He is your healer, your friend, your everything and all. You can count on Him, you can lean on Him, You can wholly commit your cause to Him because He cares for you. As a mother, He will comfort you, as a father, He will guide you, as a friend he will be there for you always, and most of all as your Chief Shepherd, He will come again to take you unto himself. You need never be afraid of anything, you never need to be worried, upset, grieved, because you have a loving and great God, the one who holds the universe and the galaxies is the same God who has engraved you on His palms. Your walls are continually before Him.
“Do you ever feel outside of God’s love? That you’ve committed an act which makes you eternally undeserving? A treason…a betrayal…an aborted promise? Maybe, just maybe if you could be better, His love would be deeper? Then remember the message of the Christmas story. God loves us! Undyingly. Unequivocally. Unapologetically. And He couldn’t possibly love you any more than he does right now! May your Christmas be filled with the overwhelming love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. – Max Lucado”
“How great are You Lord, How great is Your mercy
How great are the things, That You have done for me
How great are You Lord, Your loving kindness
Is filling my heart as I sing, How great are You Lord
How great is Your love, It reaches to the heavens
How great is the heart, That sought and rescued me
How great are you Lord, How great is Your mercy
How great are the things, That You have done for me
How great are you Lord, Your loving kindness
Is filling my heart as I sing, How great are You Lord – Lynn Deshazo”
We serve a great and mighty God. Never lose heart my friend. If you live a life pleasing unto Him, He will carry you through the storms and the winds, the mountains and the valleys, He will prove His greatness in your life.
