Walk of Life – Day 27, December 2020 – Thoughts From The Book of Proverbs

Lord Jesus – Holds our future

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Proverbs 27:1

We are in the last days of this uncertain year.  An year filled with fear, anxiety, confusion, pain and sorrow.  Not just for few but for the entire world.  We never imagined or thought about this situation.  The pandemic had changed the entire world upside down.  Many have lost their lives and many others their jobs and business.

The one certain thing is our Lord is sovereign and He holds our future.  Our Lord is righteous in all that he does and He knows our sitting and rising up.  He is the Lord of all the earth and heaven.  His promises are true, yea and amen, All the prophecies in the Bible are being fulfilled.

Boasting is excessive proud and so is self-satisfied talk about one’s achievements, possessions, or abilities.  Some boast about their achievements few others about their strengths and future plans based on the same Knowing little, that God is the one who has the final decision in all the goings in every believers life.

We really do not know what tomorrow may bring,  our life is like a shadow, and often compared to grass and a water bubble.  Let us leave contentions,  strife and anger that brought so much grief and damnation in our life, Leaving behind every sin that troubled us and brought disgrace into our life.  Let the peace of God and joy rule our hearts and not our own plans and evil desires. May our forgiving God help us to forgive rather than judging them.  There are many things which enter a believer which spoils the soul and gradually impact spiritual life.  Love for food, pleasure, money or to become popular, evil imaginations, looking down on fellow believers which are so evident and hence we need to take heed to our deeper voices of heart and plead our Lord to sanctify, asking God to sanctify our heart deep within the way God wants to and not lose the anointing of His Spirit like Saul. Let us receive the grace of God to put aside the pride and become lowly and humble like our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ knows our future and He is the Lord who leads us even till our death, He holds our future to give the righteous an expected end,  He has plans to prospers us and to give peace not to harm us.  For God’s promises to come to pass He needs our complete obedience and acceptance of His authority.  As we read in 1 Chronicles 4:10 the Lord granted the prayer of Jabez let us plead with Him earnestly to grant our prayers everyday.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don’t seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know He holds my hand.
