Walk Of Life- Day 09 , March 2021 – The C R O S S of Calvary.
REDEMPTION THROUGH THE BLOOD AT THE CROSS.
1 Peter 1:18-19 “For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;”
Redeeming in other words is called as ‘saving’. We as the children of God were once in the clutches of Satan, we were to be redeemed from that evil. For this our dear Lord Jesus has shed His precious blood as a ransom for our sins and has redeemed us from the clutches of Satan. Now as the redeemed children of God we no longer belong to the prince of this world, but we belong to God.
When we look at the cross, the cross should remind us of our freedom, salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
I heard a Servant of God share one of his life incidents. One day his son was involved in an accident, for which he was kept in the police station. The next day, the father goes to the police station, pays a certain amount as a fine to set his son free. As soon as the father paid the amount, the son freely comes out and lived a normal life thereafter.
Even we were put in the prison of sin, deemed to end up in hell for our sinful life. The penalty for our sin is death. There is no one who is worthy to take that punishment of ours on them as there is no one who is perfect. All are sinners and there is no doubt in that. We read in Hebrews 9:22 without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness of sins. God does not require blood but he requires life. We read in Leviticus 17:11 that the life of the flesh is in the blood.
We are in need of someone who would come for us, who is worthy to pay the penalty for our sins and redeem us from the punishment that we are about to taste. That is when the Lord, the Father hath planned to send His only begotten Son to fulfill His purpose, that is to redeem the mankind of their sins. The Lord Jesus Christ has come to this world, took all our sins upon Him on the cross of Calvary, shed His precious blood to redeem us. So, by this we understand that we are very precious in the sight of the Lord, for we are not redeemed by perishable things such as gold, silver, money, instead we were redeemed by the most valuable, precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He has given His life as a ransom for our sins. Today as the children of God we experience the true joy and freedom only through His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
Dear friend, are you still in those clutches of sins? Life is full of fear and uncertainty if you are not yet redeemed. Come to the Lord Jesus who has shed His precious blood to redeem us all, who believe in Him.
PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, I am vexed up in the fear of meeting the wages of my sins. I come to you Lord Jesus seeking for forgiveness of my sins and thanking you for your sacrifice on the cross of Calvary on my behalf. You took all my sins upon you and bore all my punishment there. You have redeemed me from the death by your precious blood. Thank you, Lord, for redeeming me from the hell fire and making me your child. In Jesus’ name I offer thins prayer with thanksgiving, Amen.
