Walk Of Life – Day 01, May 2021 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – MAY
*May we Dwell Safely*
“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be [a]secure, without fear of evil.” – Proverbs 1:33
As we begin this month of May amidst many disturbances, uncertainties and insecurities this is a source of great encouragement that our Lord gives to us. We will dwell safely and will be secure without the fear of evil. Is it true? Are all God’s children dwelling safely? I’m sure everyone has the same feeling just as I have. A over burdened heart with the messages that we come across everyday. There is not a day without the message “Promoted to glory”. Surprisingly, many who labored selflessly and untiringly in His vineyard has been called to the heavenly abode. The prime reason for their death being COVID 19. They are indeed those who listened to the Lord and those who left all luxury and comfort just for the sake of serving our Lord. The good news is though they have left this earthly abode they are dwelling safely and securely in the bosom of Jesus.
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world’s temptations;
Sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,
Free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
Only a few more tears!
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast;
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
How much true are the lines of the son written by the queen of gospel music, Fanny J. Crosby. They will no longer be a prey to the nations, and the beasts of the earth will not devour them; but they will live securely, and no one will make them afraid.- Ezekial 34:28
They dwell in a place that is secure and free from all fear as they have finished the race victoriously. Those who remain in this earth has yet tasks unfulfilled. May all the discouraging news let it not affect us; Let it not pull us away from the purpose of our calling. May we not utter anything that grieve our Lord. Let us take a decision that we will be swift in fulfilling the duties that our Lord has kept in store for us discarding all the complaints, murmurings and all aloofness. Our Lord has promised us that we will dwell safe and secure.
Prayer : Merciful father, Thank you for this assurance that we will live safe and secure without the fear of evil. Help us to lean always on your everlasting arms. Please do forgive us for all our fear, anxiety and frustration. Lead us throughout this month. In the Most precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
