Walk Of Life – Day 15, July 2021 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs -Be Diligent

BE DILIGENT TO STUDY HOW TO ANSWER

The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, – Proverbs 15:28

We as a family were on our way to a tourist place, few years back when GPS was quite unfamiliar and unreliable. We had to inquire the way to local residents at various stages. We received different answers in different ways. The first person abruptly said that he doesn’t know the way quite honestly and hastily, the second person guided us in a wrong way. We took a wrong route trusting his advice and had to return back and that’s another story. The third person, answered us in an unruly and impolite way. The fourth person, being new to that place tried to answer us very elegantly and also took efforts to guide us to another prominent person of that place on whose directions we reached the place safely and had a good stay. When I pondered for today’s thoughts this is the incident that I was reminded of. Based my own experience let us understand the verse for today.

We are surrounded with questions everywhere. Few questions we know the answer and for many questions we know not. How should we answer? Is it important to study how to answer? Yes, indeed because King Solomon has said that The heart of the righteous studies how to answer. Are we not made righteous by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ? If yes, we should know how to answer.

Colossians 4:6 says “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.. Kindly underline the word ALWAYS. It is not when we are in a good mood or an happy mood but it’s always, which is quite difficult. I being, a lady always take the word MOOD SWINGS for help. I confess before my God and before the readers for my fault.

We read in Luke 2:47 “And all who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and at His answers” and this passage speaks about our Lord Jesus Christ and as we are made wise through Him and in Him our answers and understanding should make people amazed.

There is no one righteous in this wold and that’s what the scripture says. If we are righteous we are made righteous through Christ and our answers should always be based on Him. As we read in 1 Peter 3:15 “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence“. This means that we should always be ready to answer with gentleness and reverence.

Oh Righteous brother! Oh Righteous Sister, Praise God for being made righteous through the mercy and grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and be diligent to study how to answer.
