Walk of Life- Day 21, November 2021 – Give Thanks Unto the Lord
GIVE THANKS FOR THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS.
1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Imagine yourself in a War field. You are completely unaware of the enemy’s attacks. All of a sudden, you are declared victorious. Does it seem like a dream? It is not an imaginary story or a dream. It is the reality of every born again Christian.
We know that our enemy is Satan. In fact he uses us to fight his main enemy, that is, the Lord Jesus Christ. Even in the Garden of Eden, he came in the form of a serpent to deceive the man and the woman whom God created and is having a very good relationship. He wanted to use the dearer ones of God’s creation to mock God. From that day his only work is to loiter on the earth to see who is praising God and living a peaceful life, defeat them in the battleground. Through Satan sin has entered the world and has been ruling over the mankind.
No one could do anything except for living in the presence of sin, under the power of sin to pay the penalty of sin. This was only till the Lord Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary, paid the price for the sins of the entire mankind, died and rose up on the third day. While the death of the Lord Jesus Christ shows His fight on behalf of mankind, His resurrection shows the victory He obtained over the enemy, Satan. Whosoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, He not only redeems them from the power and penalty of sin, but also gives them the ownership in the victory that He has obtained. We are no longer defeated or yet to fight, we are already on the victorious ground, holding the banner of Christ, our leader.
Does this mean we no longer have strife? No, though we are standing on the ground of victory, Satan keeps frightening us, troubling us, so that we may fall and bring disgrace to the Holy name of God. Satan is completely shameless and is stubborn. Though his head has been crushed by the Lord Jesus Christ he still wants to fight with his tail. He sees the mankind as feeble minds that can easily be manipulated.
What should we, as the children of God be doing now? We ought to seek the help of God and remember that we are victorious through the Lord Jesus Christ. How embarrassing it is for a victorious person to fall for silly things! When you examine yourself and see that little things are making you fall, claim the victory that the Lord Jesus has given you in Him over all wicked things. Thank Him for the victory which helps us to be fearless.
