Walk Of Life – Day 19, May 2022 – Thoughts From The Words Of Christ

Jesus Raises Jairus Daughter Back To Life (Matthew 9:18, 23-26, Mark 5:21-24, 35-43, Luke 8:40-42, 49-56)

While Lord Jesus was in tax collector Matthew’s house, a synagogue leader named Jairus came and fell at his feet. A synagogue is a Jewish house of worship and Jairus managed both the spiritual and the business affairs of the synagogue. His only daughter was sick to the point of death.

  • Go to the Lord when you are Desperate
Being a Jewish spiritual leader, Jairus also must have been against Lord Jesus. But his daughter’s condition made him desperate to go to a tax collectors house whom the Jews normally despised. When he found Lord Jesus, he pleaded him to lay his hands on the child to save her. Immediately Lord Jesus got up and went with his disciples.
  • Go to the Lord when you are Anxious
On the way Lord Jesus made Jairus to witness a healing of a woman with bleeding issues so that he does not to lose hope for his daughter. As Lord Jesus was taking time, Jairus was becoming anxious about his little daughter. Clock was ticking on his daughter’s life but Lord Jesus was still talking to the woman.
  • Go to the Lord when you are Helpless
When some people came from Jairus house and told him that his daughter died, he completely became helpless. Before he could express his grief, Lord Jesus told him not to be afraid and to just believe.
  • Go to the Lord when you are Doubtful
It was very difficult for Jairus to respond to that but Lord had to make him put away his fears and doubt. For without faith Lord Jesus would not heal his child.
  • After strengthening Jairus, Lord Jesus reached his house with his disciples and saw many people crying and wailing. When He tried to stop them, they laughed and mocked him in their disbelief. So He send all of them away and then went inside the room where the child was laid. He took Peter, James and John with the child’s parents.
  • Go to the Lord for the Impossible
Romans 4:17 says that “God gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” Lord Jesus took her by the hand and said, “Talitha koum!” which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”  Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around. This is the second time Lord Jesus had raised the dead, but He asked Jairus family to keep it a secret.

Like Jairus, you too might be in a phase where you are desperate for help. When God does not answer your prayers, you become anxious and start doubting Gods promises. Do not lose hope for nothing is impossible for the Lord.
