Walk Of Life – Day 15, July 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms.
Psalm 13- Lord, the merciful.
David’s words in this psalm remind us of Moses’s prayer in the wilderness for the Israelites. When God’s anger was kindled against Israelites, He wanted to smite them and bring a nation out of Moses and bless them. However, Moses did not agree to that, instead he pleaded God for Israel, saying what Egyptians and others would think of Him. In other words Moses was reminding God how merciful and forgiving He is. We deserve God’s wrath for our sinful nature and deeds, but when we approach Him seeking for forgiveness, He will never deny, because He is merciful God.
Approach God, seeking for His mercy. It does not give any pleasure to God by destroying His own people, He will never do so willingly. However, man by his sinful nature keeps falling and keeps going away from the Lord. Like David, if you have the knowledge of your gradual separation from the Lord, come to Him in repentance and seek for His mercy. He will surely forgive you and restore you.
Not just for yourselves, but like Moses you can be interceding for the fellow believers who have backslidden or must have waxed cold. Plead for God’s mercy towards those perishing souls. This is a silent, yet great ministry that every believer can and should do.
