Walk Of Life – Day 8, August 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms.
“BEING THANKFUL TO THE LORD.”
Psalm 30
“To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.”
Children of God who truly perceive what the LORD has been doing for them in their lives can never refrain themselves from worshipping the LORD. On Sundays, we see few believers who remain silent, not the ones who could not worship aloud due to lack of time, but the ones who do not even worship in their hearts. They just stay calm. Few of them give reasons that they reach the service late, they have missed the worship message, therefore they did not worship. When you realize the works of God in your life, you do not wait for someone to come and tell you why you should thank the Lord. A heart that tastes the goodness of the Lord can never be silent.
Then what could be the reasons for the silence from the believer’s end? There are two possible reasons. Either the believer might not have been understanding the works that the LORD has been doing in their life. Or the believer might be thinking that everything that is taking place in his life is due to his/her own strength, not the work of the LORD. In short, ignorance and pride are the reasons for the silence.
If you have been silent all this while, examine to which category you belong and rectify today. In this psalm of David, we read many reasons for which we could be thankful to the LORD.
GOD hath lifted us up and has not made our enemies rejoice over us.
How many times have we faltered in our spiritual walk? Is it not the LORD who lifted us up? We have been a reason of ridicule to the enemy, but through the victory that the LORD Jesus Christ has given us through Him, the enemy can no longer laugh over us. Do you think it is easy for us to stand and fight the enemy, putting him to shame without God? it is impossible. We can do NOTHING without GOD.
Thou hast healed me, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive.
If we are breathing at this moment then we are physically living. Do you think it is because of the balanced diet, exercise, medicines, seat belts, helmets that we are living today? Did we not hear about the sudden death of the fittest people? Not a single care that they have been taking for themselves could save them from death. The days of our life are in God’s hands. He is the one who is letting us live each day. Why is the LORD extending our days? It is because we stay alive biologically and keep praising Him for all the wonderful things He has been doing in our lives. The moment we stop breathing, we cannot praise Him and we cannot tell about His works.
While you are yet alive, my friend, praise God. not just on Sundays, but every moment keep praising Him.
