Lock Down – A boon or a bane?

How well are you utilizing this lockdown period? Has it been a boon or a bane ?  Did you become closer to God, spend more time with God, or was it more hours of sleep, more hours of chatting over the mobile, or other screen time?

What is the zeal that you had during this lockdown period? Have you prayed enough for others and the world to be saved and for God’s mercy and grace.  What are your interests that are keeping you obsessed.  Have you been quiet in the Lord’s presence, have you fed your soul and spirit with the right things?

Zeal is a powerful word. It is what you live for.  What is zeal according to Oxford dictionary – it is a great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective.

Do you have an objective or a goal for the Lord and or your career or in your personal life to reach greater heights and live for the Lord? Godly zeal builds and helps us and ungodly zeal ruins us and our time.  We should make best use of our time as we are in the end days and Lord Jesus is coming soon and we need to hurry up and not waste any more time. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16.

We need to commit our works to the Lord. “Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16.3.”  Ask the Lord how we need to use your talents, firstly find out your talents improve them and use talents for the Lord, talents like improving your musical talents, encouraging a friend or a cousin, sharing Gods word, singing for the Lord, sometimes just staying calm in your current situation and many more.

And remember we need to wait patiently for the Lord under his mighty hand for God to use our talents for His glory. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1 Peter 5:6.  To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3.1

What is driving you? What are your interests for the Lord? is it building you or tearing you down. Definitely, when your talents are used by the Lord you will be a blessing to many around you and if your talents are used to satisfy your own lust then it is bringing ruin to your soul and to people around you.  Do you remember Jonah – the servant of God, disobeying God and going to Tarshish instead of Nineveh?  When he was in the ship going to Nineveh there was a heavy storm and all the people in the ship were troubled due to his disobedience.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2.14

For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; Psalm 69.9

Let us as children of the living God be a special people for Him and be zealous of good works.  Let us be a blessing to many and make this lockdown prove to be a boon and not a bane.

What are the good habits you have acquired during this lockdown at home?

What bad qualities have you overcome with God’s help?
