Understanding the True Meaning of Christmas for Little Hearts – Day 10

Bible reading: Philippians 2:6 – 13

Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 9:7,8

And its Christmas…the day celebrated by the whole world that the Lord Jesus was born. This may not be the exact date, but we celebrate the coming of Christ into this world. The Lord Jesus is the greatest gift given by God to us. I am sure all of you love to receive gifts on Christmas. God loved us so much that He sent his only son to be born in a little manger in Bethlehem. That is why we should learn to be cheerful givers. First, give your little heart to Jesus and invite Him to live in your heart, to forgive your sins and be your Savior. Second give to those in need. It may be a toy, a dress, or anything that you think you can share with your friends. Jesus loves a cheerful giver.

I love this Christmas story of Miss Bump that I heard as a little child. The story is about a little girl who is the daughter of missionaries and she has a sweet rag doll named Miss Bump. She loved that doll very much. She and her mother were wrapping gifts for Christmas for the orphan children. She had another doll and decided to give that as a gift. But her mother told her that she must give the best that we have to Jesus not the second best because God gave us the best. During the Christmas party, she saw a little girl who was sitting very sadly in one corner. She decided to give her favorite doll to that girl. That girl received the doll and was delighted. She was so happy that she had given her best to Jesus. Though she missed her doll, she was glad that she obeyed Jesus. This Christmas, give someone in need, help those ho are worried and troubled, be a good friend.

Try this Christmas craft:

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for coming into this world as a little baby. Thank you that you died and rose up again on the third day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
