Walk Of Life – Day 01, April 2022 – Thoughts From The Words Of Jesus Christ
Do Not Worry!
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.- Matthew 6 : 34
Three months have rolled by and as we have stepped into the fourth month of this year shall we take a decision that we will not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself and these are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. He should have been the person subjected to most of the worries as He is the only person whose purpose of coming into this world is to die and He knew before how His death is gonna be. Every day He should have had those thoughts. He knew before the extent of the pain and the intensity of the shame that He would be facing. Having known all that He declares very firmly “Therefore do not worry.”
It’s very easy to comfort someone who is worrying by saying “Do not worry” but unless we step into their shoes we cannot feel the purpose or the reason for their worry. So what are the ways to overcome the spirit of worrying?
1. Put your confidence and trust only in the Living God
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. -Psalm 23:4 There can be nothing worse than the valley of death but the psalmist boldly states that I will fear no evil because the rod and the staff of the chief shepherd will comfort him.
2. Cast your burden on the Lord
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. – Psalm 55:22 Whatever might be your burdens when there is an open and loving invitation to unload them why should we bear it on our shoulders. Take everything to the Lord in prayer. He is there waiting for you eagerly as our Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 11 : 28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
3. Proclaim good words
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad – Proverbs 12:25 Whatever might be your situation do not make your heart more anxious by saying harsh words or self pitying words rather proclaim good and positive words.
4. Be assured that your future is already drafted
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11 It’s for the worldly people they have to plan their future but whereas for the children of God our future is safely written by our Lord. Our duty is to obey as He directs and there is nothing better than walking according to His will as they are surely for our welfare and not for evil.
5. Be Ready and ever prepared
Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest. – Proverbs 6: 6-8 Be ever ready fulfilling the tasks without procrastinating. Be diligent. Our Lord loves people who are very active. Most of our problems will be sorted out if we plan and finish our work based on the priorities. Redeem your time as Satan has more cunning deceits in making everyone irrespective of age and gender.
Dear brothers and sisters, let us receive God’s favour to lead a life without worrying.
Loving Lord help us to be free from all worries casting our burdens at your feet. In Jesus name we ask this prayer. Amen
