Walk of Life- Day 01, December 2021 – Turn Your Eyes on the Christ of Christmas
The Titles of Jesus Christ – The Almighty God
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8
Before the Mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalm 90:2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
We have come towards the end of the year, God has protected us like an apple of His eye. He has been our Almighty God who held us under His wings. There was a lot of chaos and confusion around due to pandemic, yet the Lord has been in control. Many of us have experienced the loss of loved ones while there have been others who have experienced something good. This pandemic has been a great lesson to all of us that everything is so futile and God is Almighty and everything is in His hands. The fall in economy, loss in business, plans being shattered, strong and healthy people falling sick just like that was a strange experience to all of us.
Every individual looked to God which shows the greatness of God. On the other hand, God had brought many towards Him, many families were restored, and there was a lot of repair done in the sovereign will of God. God knows why He allows some situations and how to control the same and to gloriously bring it to an end. He is ever busy helping us to bring us into His image. He is ready to pick us up when we fall. He lends a comforting shoulder when we cry. His beautiful face is ever ready to cheer us up and encourage us. His ears are attentive to our prayers even to the most silent whispers. His heart is longing for us to be on His side and then God wants to make us victorious.
What a mighty God we have, He is ever praised for His holiness and majesty. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” Rev 4:8 Such a Holy God wants to share His glory with us.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.” Genesis 17:1
This is the first instance of the word El Shaddai or God Almighty. The Lord is telling Abraham to trust Him for every situation in His life since He is the Almighty God and nothing is impossible to Him. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing God so He expects our complete and total surrender to His will and plan in our lives. There is nothing that He cannot do and if you trust in Him, He will safely carry you through. Love the lyrics of this song:
“El shaddai, el shaddai, El-elyon na adonia,
Age to age you’re still the same,
By the power of your name.
El shaddai, el shaddai, Erkamka na adonai,
We will praise and lift you high, El shaddai.”
Prayer: Today on the first day of the last month of this year, I acknowledge your comforting, guiding presence in my life. Thank you for being my Almighty God who has carried me through. Help me to follow you with complete surrender and experience your greatness in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen
