Walk Of Life – Day 01, October 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms
Psalm 64
The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory Psalm 64:10
Nine months have rolled by and we have stepped into the last quarter of this year. The way our Lord carried us through is amazing. Not because of our righteous deeds or being perfect or because of having led a pleasing and acceptable walk with the Lord but amidst imperfections, short comings and all our failures His grace and mercy protected our eyes from tears, our feet from falling and our soul from death. And today’s Portion in Psalm 64 and the last verse says like this that the Righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory. The first two verses is a monologue spoken by the Psalmist to God Almighty.
Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation;
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,
There are many kinds of fears and one such fear is the fear of the enemy. He pleads to the Lord to preserve him from that fear. Earning an enemy is very much easier than earning a friend. Even the dearest friend can change into an enemy. Our Lord Jesus Christ has really taught us the ways to deal with our enemies. Like
1. To pray for them
2. To bless them
3. To do good for them
4. To provide for them and so on. For sure these steps will give us an enemy free life which indeed can be achieved by constant practice. It is not necessary that we need to do something bad to earn an enemy but our success and achievements in the physical and spiritual realm can gather more enemies.
In this Psalm the psalmist Prays to the Lord
1. To hide him from the secret plots of the wicked.
2. Rebellion of the workers of iniquity.
What do they do?
1. They sharpen their tongue and shoot out bitter words.
2. They shoot in secret at the blameless
3. They encourage themselves in evil matter
4. They talk of laying snares secretly.
5. They boast in their wicked plan of targeting on the innocent and blameless.
What is the consolation and the comfort that we receive?
God Himself shall work for the righteous which is stated in verses 7 to 9.
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly they shall be wounded.
So He will make them stumble over their own tongue;
All who see them shall flee away.
All men shall fear,
And shall declare the work of God;
For they shall wisely consider His doing.
My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ are you facing the fear of enemy or are you scaring others with the same fear? Whatever might be the answer is only one. The almighty Father will surely defend the righteous. These are all certain mistakes that are overlooked among the believers. Our Lord Warns us to hold our tongue. Are we waiting for an opportunity to revert back with words it’s time to regret.
There’s a saying that goes like this. “Sticks and stones might not hurt by bones but words do.”
May the good Lord help us hop through this October with the promise that the Righteous shall be glad in the Lord and with a question Am I Righteous?
