Walk Of Life – Day 06, September 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms

Psalm 52

Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” Psalm 52:7

What a sad plight this verse is bringing out about those whose trust in the Lord. There are live examples of many great people who exercises power and authority with riches and honour but their end was futile. This refers to the wicked man whose rejoices in his might, whose tongue is very sharp like a razor, who takes pleasure in doing evil, lying rather than speaking out the truth and also loves devouring words such people has neither made God as their strength, nor have they trusted Him. Their end is utter destruction.

Is that not true my brothers and sisters that we are all fed up with those who flourish abundantly by crooked means. Don’t be fed up. Neither wait for their destruction. Start praying for them because we are answerable for them. God has kept them to trouble us so that we will not be offended because of them but begin to pray for them.

This psalm brings a difference between the unrighteous and the righteous. How their end is going to be is very clearly drafted. David says that i will like a green tree planted by the rivers of waters and it’s because he trusts in the mercy and grace of the Lord. The other secret that David shares here is he will praise the Lord forever and ever. There are many incidents that we come across in the word of God who have won battles through the praises. Jericho fell down by praises, King Jehoshaphat praised before the battle, Job praised the Lord amidst difficulties, David praised the Lord, Paul and Silas praised the Lord while they were in prison. Every praises led to the victory. Led to overcoming the obstacles and hurdles.

The last lesson that we learn from this psalm is to wait on the Lord. Wait on Him for every good thing to happen. Don’t take hasty decisions to fulfill your desires. And I’m sure that we would have done so at many times in our life but our Lord asks us to wait on Him. Are you in the process of taking decisions or are you forced to grab an offer or an opportunity kindly go to Him and He will instruct you and teach you.
