Walk Of Life – Day 10, January 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – Enter
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. Proverbs 10:4
Enter, with Diligence
The dictionary definition of diligent is “having or showing care and conscientiousness in one’s work or duties.” It is working sincerely, persevering, and never giving up whether it is your secular work or the Lord’s work.
Diligently Seek the Lord
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
For appointments and meetings with high-profile persons, we are greatly prepared. When we want to have a personal relationship with the Lord, is it possible without being diligent about the way we live and walk and talk. Do we have the strong faith that can move mountains? DO we persevere at His feet for Him to send laborers to the harvest? Do we diligently seek Him or is it just a routine of reading a few verses and praying and running off to work or school or college? The Lord wants diligence in our relationship with Him. In a marriage relationship or a close friendship, it doesn’t just work like that. You need to take time to understand each other and spend quality time and only then the relationship is strong and cannot be influenced by anyone around you. The Lord desires to have fellowship with us and to be our best friend always…the friend who sticks closer than a brother and that will not happen just like that. You need to be diligent.
Work Diligently
Colossians 3:23–24 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Whether it is cooking in the kitchen or teaching your kids or doing your secular job or taking Sunday School or whatever it is, do the best that you can. Never give your second best. Think that the Lord is checking your work and is standing right there to reward you or grade you. You may be studying, do it sincerely not just acting and wasting your time. Those around you may never notice, but remember the Lord always rewards diligence. All of us want prosperity and riches, by being lazy and carefree nothing will happen. You need to give it your best shot.
Be Diligent in Your Calling
2 Peter 1:10–11 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We have all been called to be preachers of the Good news of Jesus Christ. The Lord has kept us to be His ambassadors. We need to be diligent, not casual about it. Today, we are so busy with our secular lives do we actually take time to share the Good news with someone? Do we share our faith, do we give to those in need, do we help when needed? …the Lord expects us to be diligent.
Dear Lord, help me to be diligent in all I do or say and be worthy of the calling you have called me with.
