Walk Of Life – Day 09, September 2021 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – Step In
Step In To Forsake Foolishness
Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding. – Proverbs 9:6
“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” – Galatians 3:1-3
So harsh are the words of Apostle Paul when he writes to the church at Galatians. He calls them foolish. What for he is being so rude to them? For not obeying the truth and also for being carnal. The word of God clearly says that God has chosen the foolish of the world to shame the wise. No doubt that we are those foolish children chosen by the wise God. Continuing to be foolish is not appreciable. We have to step in to forsake it.
People can be very influential, this is why its important who we associate with. As the Apostle Paul said “Bad company corrupts good character or morals” (1 Corinthians 15:33) When the Proverb talks about “Forsaking Foolishness” what does it mean? Its basically meaning the same thing as Repent. Turn away from the destructive things in your life.
Obey His commandments and stand for the truth which you have learnt. Do not be focused on everything carnal. The purpose of our life is to spend our life in eternity with the eternal God. Be wise by doing things pertaining to eternity. Jesus promised us eternal life by the works He completed on the cross and having faith in him. Jesus is The Way (John 14:6) If you want the way of understanding, follow Christ! There are two paths in life, the one that leads to death and the one that leads to life, choose Jesus and choose Life.
To believe in God and His Word is the epitome of wisdom. To walk in light of God’s Truth is to experience a life of understanding. This leads to great blessing, and it all starts with our relationship with God. If we understand God and that His word is true, we will understand that we are sinners in need of a great Savior, Jesus Christ. This understanding brings us to faith in Christ which leads us into a relationship with God Himself. Imagine, broken human beings given the honor of being children of the God of all creation. I cannot imagine a greater blessing. And it all started by forsaking foolishness and walking in the way of understanding.
Step In right now to forsake foolishness
