Walk Of Life – Day 1, December 2020 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs

JESUS CHRIST-THE WORD AND HIS SPIRIT

Turn at my rebuke; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to You. – Proverbs 1:23

Quite sure and certain that this year 2020 has been a great year to be remembered for most of us. All throughout the past 11 months our Lord’s hand has led us so mercifully and graciously. There were times, where we stood perplexed and confused with lot of answer-less or unanswered questions. It’s been a year of great uncertainty like never before. Everything that was considered more important has become so diminished in its value. There were many messages entitled “called to glory” which we had been reading a lot throughout this year and at least for once we all would have experienced it very closely and there is a very big list of great men and women of God who went marching into the realms of glory.

It’s quite easy to overcome that sadness that fills when we read and also the same when we become depressed while hearing it, but really painful when we go through it. Lots of advices, comforting words, judgemental statements, exhorting testimonies and still the vacuum, the pain, the loss, the agony never crossed the margin below.

As we read in Daniel 4:35 “All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”
We couldn’t question either God or man. All we had to do is to accept the will of the Lord of Hosts who has proclaimed through His prophet Isaiah “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,”.

The greatest comfort and solace that we received is through the Word of God. How much true are the words of Jeremiah as he says in 15:16 “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart;”.

My dear beloved brothers and sisters, let us just recall the words that strengthened and comforted us. We were exactly reminded with the right Word exactly at the right time because of which we were counseled, encouraged, uplifted and overwhelmed either through our personal meditation, or through God’s children or through the circumstances.

Jesus is that Word as we read in John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” And it is His spirit who resides within us comforting us. As Jesus Christ promised us in John 14: 26, “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

On the very first day of the month of December Our Lord is promising us through Proverbs 1:23 that He will pour out His Spirit upon us and will make His word known to us. The only thing that we have to do is to turn towards our Lord and His correction.

Precious Lord, we thank you for filling us with your Spirit and your Word. Help us to hearken to your voice. In Christ’s holy name we pray. Amen.
