Walk of Life – Day 1 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs
Proverbs 1.33
But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” (NIV)
Listening is said to be an art. We tend to listen less and answer more though we have two ears and just one tongue; we need to minimize the usage of tongue as it is said to be fire in James 3.6 and maximize the usage of our ears and learn to listen carefully. James 1.19, Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
Our God speaks in a still small voice, it cannot be heard in chaos, in a hurry, or in the needless pain we bear. One who is very attentive and close to Him can perceive his voice and hear from him to obey and follow Him. Our God leads us into safe places.
In addition to His many teachings and warnings we need to give heed to His voice willfully listen to His voice in every decision of our life and know His will as his ways are righteous,safe, and secure without fear of any harm or danger. There is rest and protection in listening and obeying God and in following His commands . His lofty purposes are not understood by the human mind but we can only know God’s big picture when we reach heaven.
When declaring awards, we only give to them who have accomplished something, without any accomplishing, we may only give behind the stage if there is anything left, still it is not what we deserve. God by His abundant grace is granting His grace and merciful kindness towards us though we don’t fully obey Him. Be interested in knowing His will which gives utmost joy, listening to His voice and zealous to walk in His ways and be at ease.
Do you answer even before someone completes their speech?
Do you care for others and listen to them, do you have a habit of listening?
God loves and blesses those who fear Him, listen to Him and obey Him are you ready to get your hidden blessing by listening to God and experience Joy?
