Walk Of Life, Day 10 – August 2020 – Thoughts from the Book Of Proverbs
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. Proverbs 10:12 (KJV)
I would like to acknowledge at the outset that this write up is first for me, and only next for those who are reading. When do we hate something? When we do not like something to a greater extent. When such hatred sits in our heart, we find wrong with that person in everything and we tend to argue which brings up strife, because there are faults in the way we see. It is always possible that you may be correct but it is always wiser to leave anger and then think what to do but not in haste. When it becomes too much to bear, it is best to give our heartaches to God and ask God to fill us with His love.
Sometimes we just dislike a person, with no specific reason; it is always better that before it turns to hatred, let us sort it out with the person. If it is not possible, go on your knees, seek the Lord so that you can forgive that person rather than piling up his/her mistakes. Forgive truly so that you do not bring up the past again and again which only ruins the relationship.
We can forgive but how can we love them whom we have hated in the past? Humanly speaking, it is really very difficult but to them who are in Christ, all things are possible with God. If you have experienced the forgiveness of God, you should be able to forgive your enemy, as the word says forgive us as we forgive those who sin against us. When we cannot forgive others, the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be seen in us. We show another Jesus, which is a dangerous sin. It’s hard to forgive, Sister Gladys Staines had forgiven the murderers who had burnt alive her husband and two sons; by that she showed Christ’s love to the world. Only when we forgive, can we love.
Many people have different philosophies to love; human love is conditional, we need to be spiritual minded to love others like Christ loved us. When we love with the love of God, we can bear all things endure all things, trusts all things. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:7
We cannot go to God with hatred in our heart or bitterness, free yourself from such negative feelings which only harms you and your relationship with God. Our heart is the most wicked thing, never rely on it. Take your hurt to God, ask Him to heal your hurt completely, uproot your hatred with God’s help, never allow it to grow by tending and watering it as the small seed will grow into a tree that can never be uprooted.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16
Let our love show forth Christ in this end times, where the world is full of evil and let us hate strife which ruins the work of God in our lives and also our health.
