Walk of Life – Day 11 – March 2021 – The C R O S S of Calvary

Overcomer at the Cross

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11

The cross, the most significant symbol of Christianity, one that is recognized by all and one that is much more than just a symbol, is a strong reminder that the Lord Jesus by conquering death has made us more than conquerors!

Just walk with the Lord Jesus on Calvary’s road for some time, imagine being betrayed by one of your own disciples, being denied by a disciple of your inner circle, that means, a close friend, kneeling down in the Garden of Gethsemane only to find your dear disciples sleeping, bearing a huge wooden cross, being stripped, beaten, wounded for no fault of yours, being dragged to Pilate’s hall, standing there like a criminal, hearing a whole crowd of people crying Crucify Him, the list is truly endless. The pain on the cross, the tears of mother and a few faithful friends, hanging there as a public spectacle of shame, two murderers by your side, one mocking you…sounds so cruel doesn’t it? He bore all that shame, all that pain, your burden of sin on that cruel cross, paid the highest penalty of death for your sins so that you need not walk that road again…so that you need not live with the guilt of your sin and your shame, so that you can lift your head up high and walk as a conqueror, as an overcomer because Christ already bore it all!! You can look at Satan and say boldly ” you are a defeated foe”; You can look at sin in the eye and say “You no more have any dominion over me”; You can look at death and say ” O death where is thy sting, O grave where is thy victory.”

Christ overcame sin, Satan, and death and believe it my dear friend, they no more have any power over you any more. They have been conquered, vanquished, crushed…It is finished…the work is done. You need not keep carrying the guilt of your sin all your life, if you confessed and laid your burden at that old rugged cross, it remains there forever. You are cleansed, washed, forgiven, you are clean, the slate is clean, totally clean. Claim the efficacy of His precious blood, the power of the cross, Satan loves to keep reminding you of your past life but show him the cross…tell him “my sins are all forgiven at the cross”

“Oh, to see my name, written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death,
Life is mine to live, won through Your selfless love. This, the power of the cross:
Son of God, slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross – Stuart Towend”.

One day you can boldly stand before the Lord Jesus not for the great things that you did but because of His victory on the cross, because of the shed blood, the word of your testimony in Jesus Christ.

What a comfort, the King of Kings gave his all so I can be an overcomer in this world. Many people still struggle with sin after they are born again. Remember in Christ, you are already an overcomer…He made you one…never fear the devil and his tricks again. You are victorious, you will overcome, you will be a conqueror!!

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:36 to 39.
