Walk of Life- Day 11, November 2021 – Give Thanks Unto The Lord.
Give thanks for you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
We all are fearfully and wonderfully made. These words when read, make us feel so special about ourselves. These words teach us to be thankful rather than complaining.
Many of us might have or might still be complaining regarding the life that we have been leading. Sometimes it is about physical appearance, family background, place of birth, fellowship, etc. We replace ‘countless blessings’ with ‘countless complaints’.
We think, how beautiful my face would look if my eyes were not this way, my lips were not like this. The list goes on. I’ve read about a missionary named Amy Carmichael. She prayed to the Lord to give her blue eyes when she was a child. She learnt that even ‘No’ is an answer at her very young age, when that prayer of hers was not answered. Only when she came to India to be a missionary, she understood the purpose behind the ‘no’.
We sometimes act as if we are wiser than our creator. We try to modify our facial organs by undergoing surgeries, unnecessarily. Few people even say that life would have been fun if they were born to some other couple in some other land. All these might seem fun and casual, but they are insulting and criticizing God.
Remember, God knows the end from the beginning. He has prepared the path for you to walk on it. So, stop complaining about appearances and situations. Instead, give thanks remembering that you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
You are God’s most beautiful creation, precious, treasured and loved. Never feel anything lesser than that. Never allow anyone to comment about your physical appearance, if they do, they are commenting about God’s creation so never take that to heart. The Lord thinks you are beautiful and special, and He gave His life for you on the cross. He loves you very much. So rest in His goodness, Be content in His provisions, Hold on to Him always.
