Walk of Life – Day 12 – December 2021 – Christ-Centered Christmas – The Titles of Christ
JESUS CHRIST – KING OF KINGS
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:14
“On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ‘King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.’” – Revelation 19:16 NASB
The Lord Jesus is the king of kings and the Lord of lords. He is over all and above all. Every nation, every kindred, every tribe shall confess one day that Jesus Christ is Lord. We have rulers, prime ministers, presidents, kings, and dictators in different nations. The Lord Jesus is King over all of them, He is the final ruler, the supreme ruler, the One is complete control. However Christ is not a dictator.
When you see his life on earth, He was born in a manger, not in a royal palace. He wore the simplest of clothes, was born to the simplest of women, worked as a humble carpenter, ate normal food, lived a humble, simple life. He did not go around saying that He is king and everyone should serve Him. He washed the feet of His disciples, which king would do that? He humbled Himself to the death of the cross to submit Himself to the will of His Heavenly Father so that this wretched world could be saved from the clutches of sin, Satan, and death. He is now risen and seated at the right hand of the Father. He has the name “King of Kings”.
A king reminds us of someone in complete control, He has armies and a whole nation below him, listening to him, obeying him and doing whatever he says. The king’s command is the last word. No one goes against it. The king of kings is one above that, who is in control of all the kings and nations and rulers. Is Christ your King? Is He king of kings in your life? Does He have the final say in everything that you do? Do you go against Him, rebel against His word or do anything that would antagonize or upset Him? Is He supreme?
A king fights battles. If the Lord Jesus is king over your life, you need not worry or be anxious about the situations you face in your life. He will fight every battle. You just need to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD at their head.” Micah 2:13
This King has already won the victory over Satan, death, and hell on the cross. The devil is a defeated foe. If Christ is king, you will overcome the devil and come out victorious in this life.
He is our safe refuge. Those who are in difficulty or going through tough times would come to the king for help. The king would solve their problems and help them in whatever way possible. Christ is our help, our refuge, our strength, our stronghold in times of trouble.
Prayer: Be king over every single area of my life, dear Lord. May you reign supreme and may I completely submit to your lordship and kingship in my life. I worship you because thou art the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
