Walk of Life – Day 13 – December 2021 – Christ-Centered Christmas – The Titles of Christ.

JESUS CHRIST  – LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

John 8:12 “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

In the beginning, as we read from the book of Genesis, darkness was upon the face of the deep. The first thing that the God spoke is ‘Let there be light.’ While this speaks about the creation, physical darkness and light, we read in John 8:12 that the Lord Jesus himself is the light, showing us the way out of darkness into His marvelous light.

We are blessed with many discoveries, inventions that enable us to stay in the light even during dark times. People working in mines, deep under the ground use lights in that dark place. However, there is no such human invention that could make us see through our dark spiritual lives. Only the ‘Light of the world’, the Lord Jesus Christ can show us the way in this dark world. No one likes to be in the dark, darkness symbolizes negativity. People who like to live in the dark are mostly those who are into wrong businesses. Physically we make sure that at least there’s one small light glowing in the place that we stay. However, spiritually many of us are negligent of the fact that we are living in darkness.

The world is dark with all the sin that exists within it. We being in the world are for sure the creatures of dark, fulfilling the practices of this world. What is the end of this darkness, it is hell. All human beings, irrespective of their gender, or any other element to compare, are helplessly living in the dark. Except for someone who has ever seen the light, no one can help these helpless beings to come out of the dark. So, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the light and has never known darkness, came into this dark world to be the light.

The same God who spoke and made light, now came as light, so that whosoever sees Him can see the light. He, being the light, shows us the way to reach the place of eternal light, that is, heaven. What we should do to see this light? Confess your sins, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ that He came to this world, shed His precious blood to clean you from your sins, Ask Him to reside in you as the light that shows you the way to perfection.

Ye shall have the light of life, only when you follow the light, the Lord Jesus Christ. In our spiritual walk, let us today receive this Light into our lives and follow Him to stay out of darkness. Love the lyrics of this song:
