Walk of Life – Day 16 – November 2021 – Give thanks Unto the Lord.
GIVE THANKS FOR HE REMEMBERED US IN OUR LOW ESTATE.
Psalm 136:23 “Who remembered us in our low estate: for His mercy endureth forever.”
We are always in the thoughts of people when we are wealthy. However, if we happen to lose everything that we have and come to a very pitiable state, we cannot expect people to be thinking of us the same way they did earlier. Here we are today thanking God, for He remembered us in our low estate. You might be wondering, when was I in such pitiable state, where God remembered me? I say, always! Yes, we are always in a low estate, because we have no power, no strength to project ourselves as strong. A child of God should never forget who he actually is and whom God made Him to be. This is clearly explained in 1 Corinthians 1:28 “And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:” According to the verse, we are the base things, despised things, and things which are not. These are our qualifications. But still God chose us.
My dear friend, you might be blessed with a well-paid job, well known in the society, considered by men at all times, but still you are in a low estate. All that we possess on this earth are temporal and are never counted by God in eternity. God weighs the spirit. Spiritually we are in low estate, helpless in our sins. Even after being born again, it is only through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that we get access to God. We can never go boldly by ourselves. It is His love, mercy and grace on the cross of Calvary that assure us that He remembers us, and we no longer need to be frightened.
Give thanks this day for you are remembered by the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing in what state you are in spiritually. The world may leave you when you lose your possessions, but God stands by you irrespective of what you have.
