Walk Of Life – Day 17, June 2021 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs – Fear Not!
Fear not for I am your friend who loves you at all times!
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. Proverbs 17:17
Do you have a friend who loves you at all times? Can you name one.. Are they with you in times of happiness and in troubles?
What a privilege to have someone who loves us at all times! Someone who loves us in spite of our situations, weaknesses and strengths, ups and lows in life! Human love may vary, like seasons people change and so is their goodness, favor, and love towards us. Man may help when he/she is in a position to help you and that would be for a certain period of time.
We are afraid that we do not have anyone who loves us at all times sometimes, one’s utmost need is to be accepted as he/she is, appreciated, trusted, cared for and above all loved truly. A person definitely would like to be surrounded by such loving people, unfortunately not always the situations are favorable. There would be many unexpected situations. One has to always remember if you are expecting from a person, we ought to always give the same. As the word says it is better to give than to receive. One is counted as high and noble who is willing to give first.
When there is a lot of turmoil around in midst of chaos and all your fears, you can always be assured that you have a friend who is always by your side who will care for you and love you, he wants to be gracious to us, smile over us, rejoice over us, he wants to be glorified through our life. The Lord Jesus Christ always want us to be his friend and comforter. He is not like this worldly friend he is ever-present in times of our trouble, he always comforts us in spite of our short comings, He is ready to forgive and accept our repentant heart, He protects us from evil, defends us, trusts, bears our burden, load us with good gifts.
If we really want to be friends with such a good Lord we ought to keep His commands and teachings. Not only that, we also should be willing to be pruned and shaped as a gardener prunes the plants in his garden. If we go through suffering we do not like it or are willing to be in such places, Lord Jesus Christ was willing to go to the Garden of Gethsemane to be put to death obeying the will of God. We protect and count ourselves so valuable that we sometimes deny the will of God. Always remember, with a friend who is ever-loving is with us together we can win over any situation.
Do you know our friend also helps us in knowing the hidden things he shares the secrets of heaven who love him so dearly, he is willing to make us into His image and to be with us one day. Are you willing to make friends with such a good friend or are you going away from his friendship? When we have such a loving friend, the Lord Jesus, then we need not be afraid even if the whole world is against us.
