Walk Of Life – Day 18, February 2021, Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs
BLESSINGS OF HONOUR
Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before honor is humility.- Proverbs 18:12
When i opened my window last night, the image that my eyes captured mage me to smile. It is the bright moon just little bigger than the crescent, but the beauty allured me. I just start talking to it. “OH moon! What a skill of the creator is revealed in you. But you see, God has fashioned you and has kept you somewhere far. But Moon, do you know where I am? I am in the Palm of His hands?
The Psalmist David says in Psalm 8:3-5 ” When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
The fist honour that we all have received is to be born as Human beings. God, so loved the world, but He sent His only Son for the sake of Human beings like you and me, that we should not perish but have everlasting life. Aren’t you glad for this great honour.
My dear brother or sister, do you feel vexed just because you have not been honoured for what you deserve? Don’t feel bad, your Maker has created you uniquely and you are already honoured by Him and will be honoured if we do as the Lord has instructed us.
1. By being humble – The verse quoted for today from the book of Proverbs clearly says Before Honour is humility. Practise to be humble giving God the glory. Satan is very smart. If we are not vigilant he will make us to be proud even in the spiritual way, giving not the glory and Honour to our Lord.
2. By calling on the Name of the Lord – Psalm 91:15 says ““He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.. Let’s be encouraged today. Whatever the trouble be, Call upon Him and he has promised that He will answer, rescue and honour?
3. By acknowledging the Lord – Don’t forget to acknowledge the Lord in all the ways you can as we read in Daniel 11:39 “He will give great honor to those who acknowledge Him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.” Are not Dainel and his friends a great witness?
4. By waiting for the Lord Wait on the Lord and He is not a man to forget your works as we read in Psalm 37:34 “Wait for the Lord and keep His way, And He will exalt you to inherit the land;”
5. By caring for the Master Remember, being truthful and honest at work place and by working hard fulfilling all the roles and responsibilities we are sure to receive the honour. Stay strong. don’t fret. keep doing what you are doing faithfully. You will be honoured for the Honour doesn’t come from east or west but it comes from the Lord. he who cares for his master will be honored.” – Proverbs 27:18
The greatest honour above all the honours will be when our Lord welcomes us in the gates of Heaven saying “Well Done, my FaithFul Servant”. Let us live every moment of our earth’s journey awaiting that reward.
Prayer : Precious Lord, thank you for the comfort and the encouragement. Help us to follow the ways that you have taught us to be honoured in this world but above all Lord teach us to walk in such a way that we will be worthy of gaining that heavenly honour. In Christ’s most holy name we ask this prayer Amen.
