Walk of Life – Day 18 – November 2021- Give thanks Unto the Lord.

GIVE THANKS FOR HE GIVES FEEDETH US

Psalm 136:25 “Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth forever.”

According to current estimation 8.9 percent of the world’s population is hungry. We must be aware of many such places where people are undernourished and are prone to various diseases which unfortunately have no cure. Today and every day we are bound to thank the Lord for giving us good food to eat. There are few blessings that we take for granted and do not even consider them as a blessing. We think it is the duty of God to provide us those. For example, the air, water, food, and family.

The psalmist urges us to thank the Lord for He provides food to all flesh. Have you seen the fowls of air planting crops, waiting for harvest, storing the grains in barns to have them? No, they do none of these. Who feeds them? They do not have any food manager. Our God feeds them with food that they require. They probably wouldn’t be thinking of what they need to have for tomorrow, because they know that the Lord who fed them today will feed them tomorrow too.

During this pandemic, we witnessed many terrors in our lives. We have seen medical emergencies, hopelessness, fear, stress and hunger too. Many were left jobless, thereby they could not feed their families. Even during those turbulent times, God did not leave us, He stirred the hearts of His people and through them He fed many.

We read in Psalm 34:10 “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”  Not only the physical food, but also the spiritual food that sustains us. God has provided us all that we need. Seek the Lord , then you will lack no good thing.

He feeds us with heavenly manna which sustains our soul. The Lord Jesus said “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” I often wonder, what if I never knew Christ? How difficult it would have been to lead life without any set purpose…without a friend who leads me, who guides me, and speaks to me through His Word. The Word of God is powerful and keeps us going. Just like the Lord feeds us to keep us strong physically, His Word helps us to be strong spiritually. In times of trials, loss, suffering, difficulty, sorrow, there is only one thing that keeps us going.. that enables that joy to remain…that helps us to smile and stay firm and strong…His promises and His precious Word.

Thank you dear Lord for feeding us both physically and spiritually.
