Walk Of Life – Day 19, January 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – Enter
Enter with King’s Favour
The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass.-Proverbs 19:10
I had to conduct online viva-voce for my students for two consecutive days and there was a time limit to enter the marks into the website which lined up on two consecutive days. I opened up the first and found that I had time to enter the marks even after the week end. On Monday, the first task that I did was to login to the page to enter the marks and to my utter dismay I found only one set can be uploaded and the time lapse for the other batch has expired already. I stood without clue knowing not what to do. It’s a big process. I have to stand in front of the controller of examinations and ask for excuse. I felt so bad and so I started to upload the marks for the batch which is opened. While I was entering I just prayed this prayer
“Lord, I have done a mistake. Please, show me favour so that I will not stand before people worshiping idols. Help me to come out of this.”
You will not believe, while I was about to finish the controller of examinations entered into our staff room to have a talk with other staffs and she came towards me and smiled. I just told her about my mistake. She so quietly told me “Don’t worry madam the sight will be opened and you can enter the marks.” I’m really quite sure about the temper of hers and this is exactly not the way she will react over a mistake. But it’s the favour that I received from the great King.
The Lord your God is with you. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. There are more with you than the ones who are with the people who are up against you to destroy you. The great God is with you. What does he do? He shouts out in favour of you. In Zephaniah 3:15-17, The Bible says, the king goes before you, he is with you; He rejoices over you with singing and says you are His beloved child and he is pleased with you. In verse 19, the scripture says: “In the same land where you have gone through shame, he will give you praise and honour.” God is with you as a king to turn all your shame into praise and honour.
You read about the shout of the king in favour of the people in two places. In Genesis 26:28, you can see Isaac being chased by Abimelech, the king of the area where Isaac was living; and he was trying to destroy everything that Isaac was doing; when Isaac was digging wells this people came and closed the wells. The king wanted to destroy his family life too, of course out of ignorance. Isaac faced much sorrow, but he went on sowing and planting according to the command of the Lord. God gave 100 times returns. When he dug wells, the water flowed. When the enemies tried to do the same thing, they could not find water. In Genesis 26:28, the enemy said: we saw clearly the Lord is with you, so make a treaty with us so that you will not destroy us. The king and his people were afraid of Isaac, who was just living there. Enemies saw God was with him and he was prospering. This is God’s promise to you. In whatever you do, God will bless and prosper you hundred times. Even kings will come and make a treaty with you and acknowledge that the shout of the king is with you.
