Walk of Life, Day 19 – July 2020 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs.
Proverbs 19:21 “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless, the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”
God has a purpose for each and every person’s life. His purposes and plans are much higher than ours that it becomes very difficult for us to comprehend them using our human mind.
From a school-going kid to a very busy business magnet, everyone makes plans for their day-to-day as well as future activities. Before this pandemic, we all would have made many plans, plans about our education, career, and future. All these plans have come to a sudden halt with the outbreak of this pandemic.
It is true that we with our limited understanding make many plans to fulfil our desires. Our plans are mostly to satisfy our own carnal needs and desires. That is the reason our thoughts and plans remain somewhere on the ground and God’s plans for us stand high in heavens, higher than the earth (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Our God is not cruel and does not like to be as a dictator controlling us and our thoughts. He has given us the free will. It is up to us how we use it. He does not let us to be destroyed for our wrong steps but waits till we stop planning and look to Him for his help. He is able to bring us back on the track he has set for us. He allows every situation in our lives to finally fulfill his purposes.
At present everything seems so painful and we can understand nothing. But when God’s purpose for us gets fulfilled we rejoice and that is our only hope which makes us rejoice.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
I accept that the plans you have for me are higher and best than the plans that I make for myself. You know everything and nothing is hidden from you. I humbly bring myself to your presence this day retiring from all the plans that I have made in my little mind. I pray that your plans get fulfilled in my life. At present, they might seem painful kindly grant me the ability to endure the pain. In the mighty name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
