Walk of Life-Day 19, June, 2021- Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs. Fear Not!
“Fear not, for the counsel of the LORD regarding you shall come to pass.”
Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.”
Living in this world, we are very often tempted to make many plans for the day, week, and future. We live a lot in our imaginations and less in reality. Before going to bed, do we just go in a sense of gratitude that God has helped us throughout the day? No, we do thank Him, but we also make plans for the next day. Our lives are so uncertain, we do not know what may happen to us the next moment of our life. Even then with an unexplainable hope of living, we make plans. There are few people who plan for their families way ahead, worrying that their family would be clueless after their death.
Is it wrong to plan? As a child of God should you not plan for anything?
Planning and expectations always do not go hand in hand. Few people have higher expectations and they plan according to their expectations. When both of them do not agree with each other in real life, they will have to welcome depression into their lives. We can plan, but we should also be aware of the fact that we are not the designers of our lives. We as the children of God do not own anything, we are bought at a price. We are HIS assets. Sometimes, we forget this transfer of ownership from us to HIM and be stubborn in getting things done according to our plan at any cost. However, this leaves us only with despair.
How can we then be confident about our present and future?
Turn your Holy Bibles to the following verses:
Jeremiah 29:11 the LORD says,” For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Romans 8:28 ” And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”
Job 34:10 ” : far be it from God that he should do wickedness, and from the Almighty that he should do wrong.”
There are many such verses in the Holy Bible which encourage us to trust in HIS plans for us. You might be worried looking at your dreams on one hand and your resources on the other. My dear friend, our God does not need your resources to take you to the place that HE has planned for you.
Do the circumstances frighten you?
Let them not, because your duty is not to fear, but to love God and show obedience to HIS calling. No matter how worse the situations might be, nothing can deter God’s plan for you. HE uses all these adverse situations for your good. It requires your trust and belief in knowing that God never does wrong.
Fear not! for we have our wonderful counsellor who has beautiful plans for us.
