JESUS CHRIST – OUR DELIVERER

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the LORD. – Proverbs 21:31

The meaning of deliverer is “A person who saves Someone from a painful experience.” There are indeed certain aspects that could neither be delivered with abundant wealth nor with immense strength nor with alluring authority. Deliverance from the bondages of sickness, debts, authority, our own character, unwanted habits and the list goes on. There are many great examples of real-life characters who stood helpless even with their abundant bank balance, authority and great strength or force with them. In other words, they did not have a deliverer.

Israel, a great nation chosen to be His own by the Great God of the Universe felt miserable under bondage in Egypt. The work load was increased, their own resources was reduced, they were not allowed to worship their God and at such helpless situation, when they though great in number could not do anything of their own, they looked up to God for their deliverance and they were delivered. Moses was sent to them as a deliverer by the Lord and even he is a deliverer with very much limitations.

When people started murmuring and complaining against Moses he gets annoyed with them and starts shouting at God as we read in Numbers 11:12 “Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers? How much these words would have broken the heart of Israelites if they would have heard this conversation between God and Moses. But surely, it was not Moses who led them out but rather it’s God who delivered them.

Jesus Christ came into this world to deliver the world from the bondage of sin, Satan and sickness. Nobody and nothing can deliver us completely. If you are under the bondage of anything, look out to the Lord. There are many things that enslave us. Might be a sickness of the body or the sickness of the mind. It can also be our authority at work or anywhere else. It can also be our own attributes from which we want to be delivered. No matter what look up to the Lord right now and plead for your deliverance as I also do the same.

Jeremiah 32: 27 says “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? Call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and be delivered. Tell all your troubles and sickness. Are you deeply worried about your secret sins or habits that has enslaved you? Wasting of time, being lazy, engaged unwantedly with the technological gadgets, involved in pornography, fear, unwanted rubbish thoughts running in your mind whatever it might be. Don’t be sitting with self-pity. Come on fall prostrate in your spirit at the feet of The Deliverer.

Jesus Christ has purchased us deliverance long way back, not through winning battle in war or by giving more money but by giving Himself on that cross of calvary. He has shed His precious blood. No other deliverer will dare to do that. Our deliverance is paid on that cross. Don’t waste your time brothers and sisters. Come before His altar and plead with the Lord for the deliverance. Cry out to Him as Oh! Jesus of Nazareth, deliver me. He will deliver you.
Apostle Paul anguishes in Romans 7:24 “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” and answers in 2 Corinthians 1:10, Galatians 1:4, 2 Timothy 4: 18 that our Lord Jesus Christ will deliver us from the snares of the evil world.
