Walk of Life, Day 21- July, 2021- Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs. Be Diligent

Be Diligent to Prepare for the Lord’s Coming

Proverbs 21:15 “It is joy to the just to do judgement: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.”

In the above verse we see two men and their end result. We are, through today’s devotion, being reminded to examine our ways: for the coming of the Lord is very near.

There is one man who is just and rejoices at the judgement time, and there is another man who is a worker of iniquity. When we talk or hear or meditate about the coming of the Lord, does it bring joy or fear to us? So we even care for the coming of the Lord?

My dear friend, the LORD Jesus Christ who came to this world as savior to save the sinners from destruction will be coming very soon again as a judge to judge each and everyone of us.

For those who have not accepted Him as their personal savior, the straight judgement is destruction. As the verse in Proverbs states- ‘ destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.’

Then who can be bold at the time of judgement? Considering our deeds, abilities, and qualifications do we have such boldness to be standing with our heads high at the time of judgement? Who is worthy of such joy? Only the just. Who can be just? No one, except for those who are washed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you bring yourself under the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, confessing and leaving behind the sinful life, our faithful God will cleanse you with His blood, cover you with His righteousness and will present you as just at the time of judgement enabling you to experience the joy, but not fear of destruction.

Even after being washed in the blood, we need to live conscious of the day when we will meet Him. The just will have their rewards. And if you want yours, you need to store up treasure in heaven and live each day wholly dedicated to Him
