Walk Of Life, Day 21, May 2021- Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs. MAY
MAY WE DO JUSTICE and JUDGEMENT
Proverbs 21:3 “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.”
On that day many will say to me, ’Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
They have been prophesying in His name, casting out demons in His name, and were doing many mighty works in His name. They made it sure to inform or remind the Lord Jesus that whatever they have done it was not their work, but was God’s. They told the Lord that had been striving their best to do the Lord’s Service. What should be the response of the Lord Jesus? Should not He feel happy and be pleased that these men have toiled just to serve Him?
And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Does this surprise you? Not a single work that they have done seems lawless. All the works seem beneficial to the people of God. However, the Lord Jesus Christ calls them the workers of lawlessness. It is because our God is not the one who could be deceived by deeds. He is the one who weighs our hearts.
Dear friend, are you being among these workers of lawlessness? Do not deceive yourself! By your own effort you can do many things. You can preach, you can use all your talents to attract people. However, if you are not known by God, then all that you do is just to please men, and to live in this world. When you get there to heaven expecting to receive crowns and rewards, all you receive is the tag – ‘Worker of lawlessness’. It should not be surprising to you the, because God has fore warned us about it. When you are not known by God, whatever you do, will never be counted.
When can we be known by God? God does not know you by the work that you do. He knows you by your righteousness and justice. Let the God be pleased by seeing how longing your heart is looking towards Him at every moment. Le Him be pleased seeing you available to do the work which He has assigned for you to do. Our efforts might help us to earn bread and fame in this world, but in eternity we get nothing.
In many verses from the Holy Bible, we find the Lord saying that He does not require our sacrifices, but our hearts He needs. What have we been giving the Lord all these days? Have we been doing all works for our own benefit, using our own efforts and living in an illusion that it is for God? Have we been think Lord is in requirement of our money and talents? If it is a yes, let us stop and surrender our hearts to Him. The work that you see is indeed God’s Work. He has got a plan for every person. Know what the Lord wants you to do for Him. Do not go on doing just because you feel it is easier for you to do. Before this you should be known by the Lord. How does the Lord Jesus identify you? Does He identify you as the ‘man after His own heart’? or Does He identify you as a ‘worker of lawlessness’ ?
