Walk Of Life – Day 21, November 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms.
PSALM 98
“: for HE cometh to judge the earth with righteousness shall HE judge the world and the people with equity.”
The Righteous Judge
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the righteous judge. His judgment is based on righteousness. Unlike the judgments that prevail in today’s world, this judgment which is of God cannot be manipulated, bribed or can never be unfair.
The phrase in psalm 98 which says, “HE cometh to judge the earth” could have made an impact on us. There are two categories of people. One being the born again children of God, while the others are those who have not accepted the gospel, the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The people of the second category, those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ would be cast into the lake of fire undoubtedly. Heaven is assured only for those who are born again. However, this fact should not make us feel accomplished or relaxed, as we have lot more to do after being born again. Accepting the Lord Jesus as our personal savior is a beautiful start to a remarkable race. It is entering into a spiritual walk, where you will constantly be led by the Spirit of the Lord. If just being born again was the ultimate aim, what could be the purpose of life after being born again? This clearly explains that a believer has a race to accomplish.
At the end of the race, the winners get the medals. Unlike the earthly races, the spiritual race does not consider how fast you work, but has different parameters. The rules and regulations as well as the training is available only in the word of God, through His Holy Spirit who is in us. As we start taking our steps in Christ, we will be led by His Spirit who enables us to do what we ought to do. At the end, we will be rewarded for the work that we have done on this earth for the Lord.
How sure are we on receiving rewards from the Lord, if He comes as the judge right now? Have we done anything for the Lord that could assure us of a reward?
Dear friend, do not worry if you find yourself satisfied till date on being born again. Start your journey in the Lord Jesus, take those little steps in Him as He is always ready to guide you through His word. Let this not encourage you to do as you like, putting in your efforts as you please in an anticipation to get rewards. To work for Him, you need to learn from Him. He is the one who is righteous, holy, He wants us to be the same. He will work in us and through us, when we surrender ourselves to Him.
