Walk Of Life – Day 22 – February 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – Love!
Love to have a pure heart
Proverbs 22:11 “He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.”
Purity in hearts gives rise to purity in deeds. One can never do something wrong having a pure heart in them. How can one have a pure heart? There are many who desired to attain a pure heart by their own practices, but failed and somehow eventually lost their belief in God.
We might have heard this very often, when a certain thing causes trouble, we take it to its maker, as he will be knowing every single bit of that thing. In the same way when you admit that your heart is impure, do not meddle with it. Straightaway go to the Lord Jesus taking your impure heart to Him.
The Lord Jesus Christ shed His precious blood for this same purpose, that is, to make our filthy hearts pure by cleansing them with His precious blood.
Have you ever wondered why it is necessary to have a pure heart?
There are many reasons, but we are going to look at four such reasons.
- To have the Lord Jesus Christ dwell in us.
- To bless the holy name of the Lord.
- To see the Lord.
- To be His friend.
According to 1 Corinthians 3:16 we are the temple of God and His Spirit dwells in us. We read in 1 Peter 1:14-16 that God is holy. How can a pure thing dwell in an impure vessel? If our hearts are impure, we cannot have the holy God, the Lord Jesus Christ dwell within us.
Secondly, psalmist David says in Psalms 103 to his soul, and all that is within him to bless the Lord’s holy name. When we worship the Lord and bless His holy name from what lies within us, are we offering the pure worship from pure heart or are we offering worship with all impurities?
Matthew 5:8 says that they that are pure in heart can see God. Without purity in heart we can never get the opportunity to see God.
Finally, as the verse in Proverbs 22:11 says we can become the friends of the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ by having a pure heart.
When we know what all benefits we have by having pure heart, why do we still delay to seek the Lord Jesus Christ to cleanse our filthy hearts to make them pure? Let us love to have this pure heart that makes us a friend to the Lord Jesus Christ.
