Walk Of Life – Day 22, 2023- Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms.

Psalm 119

The longest psalm in the Holy Bible, consists of 176 verses which are grouped into 22 groups, having 8 verses each.

Daleth (25-32):

  • There will be times in our lives, when our soul feels very low. It is the word of God that uplifts our soul. There could be many motivational quotes in this world, but the way the word of God sustains us, establishes us is amazing and can never be compared to any word.
  • To experience and talk of the wondrous works of God, we ought to understand the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches us from the Word that we hear or read (John 16:13).

Let us incline our hearts to the Word of God, make Him our resort in every circumstance. For His way is of truth, but not the way of lying.

He (33-40):

  • There is no greatness in saying how frequent we are in reading and listening to sermons on the Word of God, if we do not put what we have learnt into practice. We are easily played by our emotions. Sometimes, we emotionally take a decision and eventually we forget our decisions and come back to the original state. When the word of God speaks to us, convicts us and teaches us the way of truth, we wholeheartedly ought to keep it till the end of our lives. This is the true determination that keeps us growing spiritually.
  • We can seek help from God to keep ourselves away from sin. It begins with the desire in us to be away from sin. Having a little heart in the world and the rest in Christ can never help us be holy. When you truly understand the sweetness in the Lord, you cannot wish for having the bitter world with you.

Vau (41-48):

  • As the children of God, we come across reproach in our walk of life. We need not worry about the answers that we ought to give, because the mercies and the salvation that come from God enable us to answer.
  • The law of this world promises no freedom. However, the law of the Lord, when sought for in pure delight with whole heart, enables us experience the freedom in doing according to the word.

Zain (49-56):

  • However bad the situation or the people might be, but a person who has his delight in the word of God, depends only on God, but not on himself.
  • He looks for comfort in the word of God, not in the words or actions of people. For He knows the comfort and love of God which is above anything and anyone else.

Cheth (57-64):

  • Make haste, and delay not to keep the commandments of God. When we are corrected by God, we ought to receive the correction and change our ways immediately, not even an hour later.
  • We need to be a companion to those that fear the Lord and follow His commands.
