Walk of Life- Day 26, November 2021- Give Thanks Unto the Lord.

GIVE THANKS FOR HE PROVIDES ALL YOUR NEEDS.

Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

When we think and compare our present life with our life when we were too young, probably school going age, we can notice a drastic change, not just in our physical appearance, but also in our thoughts and deeds. When we were kids, we did not take a moment to think of how our needs are being met, did we? Any child from any background generally do not worry about their needs, because parents strive hard to meet at least few basic needs of their children. Often many of the children take this for granted, they think it is the responsibility of a parent to provide them the basic needs, so they do not live in gratitude. How ruthless they are, are they not?

How long have you been ruthless to God? Have you thanked Him today for He has been meeting your every need at the right time? Did you even acknowledge Him as your provider?

When we read about the biological parents and their efforts to meet our needs, we might have been moved with emotion and love thinking of our parents and their struggle. At the same time, if you think about what God has been providing you right from your birth, you cannot withhold yourself from praising and giving thanks to Him.

The air that we breathe, the water that quenches our thirst, the food that gives us energy are all our basic needs which are provided by God alone. We might not have thanked God specifically for the air that we breathe in, thinking it to be just a part of creation. In recent times, we have seen people running from pillar to post to purchase the same air, even after that they could not save their dear ones. May be that served as an eye opener for many of us to thank the Lord for what He has given.

We read in Proverbs 30:8-9, he says, “Lord, do not give me riches or poverty, but give me only my daily bread.” The two possible reasons for not thanking the Lord for all that He has provided could be as follows.

  1. You might be ignoring God by having pleasure with all the blessings that He has provided you. We often forget the provider and delight in the provisions. Hence, we fail to give the due thanks. We are full and we think we need nothing more, so with pride we neglect to thank.
  2. You might be wanting more. This is termed as greed. Sometimes we are not happy with what we have. We lack satisfaction. We always compare our lives with those who have something that we do not. This leads us to complain always, in this process we fail to see what we have and therefore we fail to thank the Lord.

My dear friend, if you have not thanked the Lord for meeting all your needs, do it now. Examine yourself and be a man or a woman of gratitude. He will surely meet all our needs in the right time, when you depend on Him.
