Walk Of Life – Day 28, February 2022 – Thoughts From The Book of Proverbs – Love!

Love to be Bold

The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion. – Proverbs 28:1

There is a simile here which says as bold as a lion. Who will be as bold as a lion? The Righteous. Is it true? Are the righteous bold as a lion? Practically speaking the righteous are those who suffer humiliation, who will be ignored, and who are targeted. Is it not? It so happens, just because of being righteous they will be avoided into the team or the gang and still the one who desires for righteousness will stand alone as bold as a lion.

As a research student, I am pursuing my research on a comparative study between the literature works of Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Tubman and Harriet Jacobs. They all are connected directly or indirectly to slavery. Just to read about the boldness of Harriet Tubman is simply amazing. Though a slave she was righteous in all her deeds and boldly she liberates herself and also gives the taste of freedom to others as well. She remains confident and righteous amidst all circumstances.

Same is with Harriet Jacobs as she narrates her own life incidents in her book “The Incidents Of A Slave Girl” just to be righteous she suffers in all ways but through it all she remains strong.

Mordecai, refuses to bow down to the unrighteous Amman, even after knowing for sure he is in the senior hierarchy to the king. He remains very bold facing Amman face to face at every counter. The boldness that he experienced is not from within but the confidence that he has in His righteous God.

Psalm 1 compares two men (or women). The first described in verses 1-3, is a righteous man. The word righteous refers to one who acts in accordance with the divine or moral law. The second, described in verses 4-5, is an unrighteous man or one who is not following the moral law.

If we have to be righteous and be as bold as a lion we must not walk in the counsel of the wicked, not stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers, delight in the Lord, meditates on His word day and night.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry. – Psalm 34:15

Dear brothers and sisters, Have you taken up the call for righteousness? Are you facing tribulation because of that? Please don’t ever forget that the quality of righteousness that you have adapted to is not because of your ability but it’s the divine attribute of your heavenly father and He has entrusted you with it. so, you are not alone. Call on His name and you will never be shaken. You will be bold as a lion. AS we are on the verge of completing the first 2 months of the year let us love to be righteous.

Righteous Father, fill us with your spirit so that we will be bold as lion to tackle all kind of circumstances. Amen
