Walk of Life – Day 29 – July 2020 – Thoughts from the Book of Proverbs
PROVERBS 29:26 “Many seek the ruler’s favor; but every man’s judgement cometh from the LORD.”
The root cause for our unsatisfactory, troublesome lives is that we forget our motive.
Rules are explained to the ones who participate in a competition but not to everyone. Same way the ones who determine and take part in leading a Christian life are provided with the guidelines present in the Holy Bible.
As a child of God, we make a good start of our Christian lives by surrendering ourselves to God, we take his advice in whatever we do. But as years pass by, we find many situations where we are cornered. People test us by placing us in a situation where you need to choose between obeying God and obeying your ruler. There might be situations where you tell yourself that you need to obey your rulers and you commit something which is against God’s interest.
Whatever might be the situation just remember one simple truth that it is God who judges you not man. A man can be your ruler over earthly issues. You might be judged by the heathen for standing on the right side. But this worldly judgement does not and should not matter at all for a child of God. When God approves your deed no man’s disapproval actually matters.
Do not seek the favor of men and be a people pleaser. If you do so, you might end up as a hypocrite changing always according to the situation.
Please God in whatever you do though you are not accepted by people around you. You will surely be accepted by God as you have done it to please Him alone. You are accepted by the most high, God and he will surely reward you.
Whom are you pleasing?
Did you check with God if He is pleased by your deeds?
Let us fear the one who has the power over our soul and flesh not the one who has power just over our flesh! (Read Matthew 10:28)
