Walk Of Life- Day 30, October 2020- Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs
Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me – PROVERBS 30 :8
As we drawn to the end of the tenth month of the year shall we all look back and thank the Lord for all His goodness. We sure did lack nothing. All our needs were met according to His riches in glory. Very different year, difficult circumstances, different scenario, year that taught very valuable lessons whatever might the captions be but we all had enough and sure our Lord was our shepherd and we did not want any thing.
The psalmist writes I have been young and now I’m old; but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for food and so true is His word. Our Lord has been faithful to all His promises and sure He will be for ever as Micah 3: 6 says “I, the Lord will never change”
Our Lord is not a man to lie nor the son of man to change His heart. Whatever he has promised He will fulfill in our lives. Yes, our Lord allowed us to go through a very difficult and unbearable path but we all are for very sure that all things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His promise. We have got nothing to grumble or to murmur. Many things which we do not understand or the situations that remains unexplained will one day be explained and made to understand.
Even with this enriching experience I think the prayer which Agur has prayed to the Lord makes a great sense and we should make this prayer to our Lord every day. We will surely ask the Lord to keep us from poverty but will we ask Him to abstain from giving us riches? Interestingly Agur prays in such a way. The reason behind it is that when we are filled with riches, we will deny the Lord and will start to depend on our own bank balance rather than depending on the Lord.
Whatever might be our need, our family’s need let us not attain it just because we have enough finance to fulfill that need but let us ask enquire from the Lord. Let us honour our lord with the wealth that he has given us.
