Walk Of Life – Day 31, August 2022 – Thoughts From The Book Of Psalms
The Lord who is Worthy of Praise
Sing praises to God, sing praises, sing praises; sing praises to our King sing praises. Psalm 47:6
It seems the book of Psalms is actually sung as songs by choirs in the Old Testament. Many believers give least importance to songs and wait for God’s Word and the message. When the songs are sung meaningfully they are actually preparing us to listen to the message with a receptive heart. Praise prepares our heart for the word, just like soil is made loose for the seeds to be sown. Singing songs and praises to our Lord who is most worthy of our praises encourages us and puts our hearts and minds in order.
When King David played harp and sung songs, the demons in Saul left him; demons tremble at listening to your praising God from your heart. Our God is Holy and He who is always worshipped by thousands of angels, desires your heartful and sweet smelling praise.
Sing praises, praise changes our situations and clears the way where there is no way, bring down the enemies strongholds, and encourages us. Through songs many souls are saved. As mothers keep singing praises while you move around at home let children listen to your songs and imitate you. When my son was young, he never used to sit to learn anything, so I made it a point to sing praises or songs, whenever he is around he used to listen and learn and after few days he will sing along with me. He learned to sing while he going around at home or doing something. It gives me great joy.
Out of the mouths of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger. Psalm 8:2
Sing Praises to the God Most High, your praise has great potential to confuse and falter the devil.
