Walk Of Life – Day 4, August 2021 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs – Right Attitude
THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TO HOLD FAST INSTRUCTION
Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life. – Proverbs 4:13
All of us have been taught by someone to do certain things, even if it was something that we should not do. God gave us a path of righteousness to live by, and He showed us the right path to live and gave us the instructions to pass down to our children and the society that we live in. The instructions that God gave teaches mankind how to live right, treat others, how to love, forgive and what to do and not to do.

I can remember thinking that my parents did not know what they were talking about and I chose to do it my way and refused to follow their instruction, and I woke up one day and realized that my parents were pretty smart after all and that I was the one that was wrong. My parents were instructing me in things that they knew was going to be good for me if I followed those instructions because they loved me and only wanted what was best for me.
The same is true about God, He loves you and wants you to have a wonderful life on this Earth and to come and live with Him for all eternity when this journey of life is over. God’s instructions for us is to guide us in every aspect of our life.
Does it mean that we are never going to have any more problems if we follow God’s instructions? No! As long as we live in this world, we are going to have problems come against us. But God’s Word or book of instructions helps us to know the way to face these problems and guide us through them.
Instructions are commandments. Noah completely followed the instructions given by God and the result of it is that he and his family protected in that deluge.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. – Psalm 32:8. Is this not an assuring promise but how often have we followed God’s instructions? Our Lord tells to the prophet Jeremiah in Chapter 32 verse 23 that “They have turned their back to Me and not their face; though I taught them, teaching again and again, they would not listen and receive instruction.”
The blessed Holy Spirit is with us teaching us and instructing us and we should have the right attitude to hold fast to the instructions.
Prayer : Blessed Holy Spirit, help me to clearly understand the instructions and to follow them without questioning. In Jesus name i pray. Amen.
