Walk Of Life – Day 5, December 2020, Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs
JESUS CHRIST – THE WISDOM OF GOD
My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding. – Proverbs 5 : 1
Apostle Paul concludes the epistle of Romans giving glory to God by saying “To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”
Paul tries to talk about the wisdom of God, and when he does, it moves to praise: “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counsellor? Or who has ever first given to Him, and has to be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” (Rom. 11:33-36)
When Daniel described God’s wisdom, he wrote, “He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Dan. 2:21-22) Nothing’s ever a mystery to God. He is never puzzled or confused or uncertain.
Such an awesome, omniscient God did not find any other option to save me and you from the eternal fire and destruction. He ways are unfathomable. Cross was the infinite wisdom of God for salvation of mankind.
As Paul wrote in Romans 5:7-8: “Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.”
As parents, will we teach our children to do such an act. Wont we insist them often that we have to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But Beloved our Dear Lord Jesus Christ, considered it to be wise to come and die for such a sinner like me and you.
God the Father and Jesus Christ knew just how to go about accomplishing Their plan to bring children into Their divine family—children who would always want to remain in this sacred and loving family relationship. For Jesus—who was the Creator of everything and who had lived for all eternity—to live as a mortal and among mortals and then die for them so that they might have eternal life also, can be nothing less than godlike.
Paul concludes that Christ is “the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24) and that the idea of “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2) is “the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages” (1 Corinthians 2:7). God’s plan provides a way for our sins to be forgiven, but is also designed so we would not choose the way of sin ever again.
Lord Jesus Christ you are the wisdom and there is nothing better than knowing you. Fill us Father with your wisdom to comprehend you more. In Christ Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.
